ABOUT
Christy Vadakkan is a psychiatrist double board-certified in adult and child & adolescent psychiatry. She is the Medical Director and a founding provider at Refresh Dallas Psychiatry. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami, medical school at Nova Southeastern University, psychiatry residency through the Palm Beach Consortium of Graduate Medical Education, and a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine.
She works with adults, adolescents, and children, treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, and the conditions that sit at the intersection of those. Her training also includes addiction medicine, and her research has spanned neuromodulation in autism spectrum disorders and the psychiatric presentations that are easy to miss. Her approach to medication is careful and specific: she takes the time a real evaluation requires, and she revisits decisions across visits rather than treating the first appointment as the last clinical conversation.
She founded Refresh Dallas because she wanted to build a practice where the work could be done right. The same provider, every visit. Enough time to take a real history. Honest conversations about what is working and what is not. She believes psychiatric care should work this way, and built a practice that does.
